SSIR 1.0RC

SSIR will change your life!

Works under Mozilla Firefox and other Gecko based browsers, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari (and maybe under Opera, but not tested)

The meaning

The SSIR comes from the words: Server Side Image Replacement.

The progress

  1. You write the (X)HTML as you did before;
  2. Make the stylesheets too, but now you can use any font-family you want and got in TTF;
  3. Add SSIR to the page's source;
  4. Place the SSIR's server-side code next to the HTML too;
  5. Configure SSIR in JavaScript;
  6. Enjoy!

Known bugs

  1. Some image width is wilder with approx. one word if it's only one line height.
  2. Image width of texts with more than one lines much wider then real text width.
  3. Characters overflow with legs (p, q, j, etc.).
  4. Don't recognize any tags within the replacable elements.
